Why did I worry?

So my oldest is heading off to his first day of high school. As the day got closer, various folks would ask him if he was worried about bullies. He recalls this story about his 5th day of 6th grade which I must share to ease the minds of worried moms everywhere.

(NOTE: His 5th day of 6th grade was my 5th day as assistant principal at the high school and his 1st day to ride the bus home with high schoolers.)

A senior boards the bus and starts harassing my son and his friend. My son looks him in the eye and simply says, "You must not know who my mother is."

Senior: "Why? Who is she?"

Son: "She is the new assistant principal and if she can't chase you down, her buddy Justin Hill (a very fast and well-known athlete) from the football team will. So I suggest you just go pick on someone else."

Senior: Hmmphh... (and walked away)

Such good problem solving skills.... He is now 3 grades taller and wiser. He would still fit in a locker if shoved, but I'm thinking he can talk his way out of it.
