A word about flesh colored bathing suits.

Remember this is commentary not criticism.

We have pretty strong feelings about flesh colored bathing suits at Beach Access 31.

In a word our BA31 stand on flesh colored bathing suits:

NO!

Obviously flesh colored is a sliding scale, depending on how much time you spend on the beach, how late in the season it is, and well, your flesh color.  Obviously.

When buying a bathing suit please take this into consideration in the dressing room.  If you are one of the fortunate to have a mirror in your dressing room, consider what you are going to look like from afar when trying on a flesh colored bathing suit.  Maybe take a step or two back from the mirror.  Or calculate the exact distance from your boogie board to our beach chairs for safe measure.

From our beach chairs at BA31, your flesh colored bathing suit may look like well, -- not a bathing suit!  Don't make us worry more than we have to.  We are middle aged moms with teenage sons trying to patrol an entire beach access on our own.  It's a lot of responsibility.

We know it happens.  In fact we know from experience it happens...  One of those surprisingly big waves knocks you for a loop.  You loose your sunglasses, you loose your hat, you loose your pony tail holder, and sometimes you loose your bathing suit top (or bottom).  Mistakes happen.

Don't let your first mistake happen in the dressing room.

Do it for us!

Buy something fluorescent, size appropriate and maybe one piece, with sturdy straps, or perhaps turtle neck, with a skirt, so we can keep track of you in the waves without having to worry about your decency.

From the bottom of our BA31 hearts -- Thank you.
