Mystery House report: the kiddie pool edition

I hate to keep you in suspense about what's happening at the mystery house.

I've actually had a request recently for an update!  I don't know if I'm grateful or sorry that my friends lead the same type of exceedingly average lives that we do?

Earlier this week we had a pretty good wind storm blow through -- unfortunately this was on Sunday night right after everyone had put their garbage out.

[Fortunately ? the Wanda Louise house forgot to put their garbage can out on Sunday night and we had to rush out on Monday morning to beat the garbage truck at 6 a.m.  -- I know, it's like living in a very glamorous reality show here!]

You know where this is going right?

Garbage all over the neighborhood.

Whatever.

I cleaned up around our yard while bundled like an Eskimo on Tuesday.

So, from my kitchen window all week I've been watching this plastic kiddie pool on the road in front of the mystery house.  Like this:

Part of it is frozen into a snow bank as of Tuesday so it's not blowing around aimlessly.

I have so many questions:

  1. How did it get there? (the obvious answer is the wind storm, but this is the "mystery" house remember)
  2. Who in our neighborhood is fooling with a baby pool when it hasn't been above freezing in weeks?
  3. How did our crack team of garbage collection people miss this obvious large piece of plastic?
  4. Why have the mystery neighbors not done anything about it since it blocks the mailman's path to their mailbox?
  5. Why am I too lazy to do anything about it since I've been looking at it for five days as of this writing?
  6. Why do so many people seem to not notice it until the very last second when they're driving up the street?
  7. Why am I getting such enjoyment out of watching people stop short for an unexpected baby pool speed bump in January? (and that may answer question 5 about why I haven't done anything about it yet)

I guess I'll take care of it tomorrow.... or on Sunday when I put my garbage out for the week....maybe.
