Say And

O.K. time for a beach story.

The little boy in Monday's wordless Monday picture is a nephew who we only see at the beach once a year.

He lives in the South and he can stretch a word out to more syllables than seems possible for any six year old.  I actually fear he's going to run out of syllables by the time he's in his early 30's.

We've watched him progress over the years from being afraid to get off the beach blanket, to getting his toes a little wet, to boogie boarding with the best of them.

One afternoon few years ago he started to walk away from BA31 towards the DMZ between BA31 and BA30.  The husband was the official adult on duty at the time (adults and grown ups are two different categories at Beach Access 31, but that's a post for another day.).

When the husband asked the nephew where he was going he very earnestly explained that he was going to get some "say-and."

That's "sand" to us Northerners.
