Car Shopping Part 3: Know your audience.

Here's a review of where we've been so far:

The time we terrified the new employee.

The cariscopes (it's a thing!)

Same theme, different used car lot.

The salesman sees us get out of the obviously 18 year old 200,000 mile car.

Then the high pressure sales begin.  "New is more cost efficient than used."  "Price doesn't matter we can sell you financing."  and my favorite.....

"This car will hold it's value well so when you want to trade it in in five years...."

Um?  We just drove into your lot with an 18 year old car.  We left our 10 year old car at home.  Trade in after five years isn't really in our wheelhouse.

Dear pushy salesman,

You may want to consider your audience when planning your tactic.

Sincerely,

Potential customers who are going someplace else.
