Sometimes the internet isn't telling the truth.

This might or might not be a hypothetical situation.

It's on the internet, so you'll assume it's true, but don't be too sure.

If you read on the internet that you can wash the floor mats from your car in your washing machine, it may not be true.  The internets may be assuming things about your washing machine that it is not capable of doing.

But if you happen to believe the internets and wash the floor mats from your car/van in your washing machine several things will happen.

First you will be absolutely horrified by the dirt that drains out of the hose.  Have you been driving around in a van or a pigsty? Disgusting.  Obviously none of this happened while you were driving, other people must have made that mess.

Second you will be surprised at the color the floor mats actually are compared to the color they've been for the past ten years.  You may be tempted to throw the whole van in the washing machine. Along with the dog.

Third there is a chance that the whole process will tear a hole in the washing machine gasket.... hypothetically of course..... but your very handsome and handy husband might be able to fix it.

Hypothetically the part might cost you $23.  And hypothetically there might be a youtube video out there with step by step instructions on how to do it.

And hypothetically you may walk into the laundry room to see your handsome handy husband utilizing duct tape in unexpected ways that include holding the top of the washing machine to the wall.

Any you will be very happy by the end of the day because you have a washing machine that works (perhaps better than new considering all the hypothetical gunk that got cleaned out of that gross thing) and you have been able to use the word utilize correctly in a blog post.
