I had the opportunity to have coffee with a friend at a new locally owned and opened coffee shop recently.
| And I'm not really a fancy coffee drinker, but my friend took this picture of her pretty cup. |
No worries real life hometown friends, I'm not abandoning B&B -- It will always be my favorite!
Here's the thing.
I really like coffee made in a french press. A little bit because I like the flavor, and a lot because I love how little space a french press takes up on my kitchen counter.
[And of course you know how I feel about single use appliances in general.]
We went to this new cute coffee shop and they offered a list of things with unusual names, as well as french press or siphoned coffee.
I of course asked for french press coffee, but all of the french presses were in use, so the coffee girl offered me "siphoned coffee." Despite the name this does not actually mean that the coffee is siphoned from someone else's cup into your cup. Because that would be just gross, although economical for the coffee shop. It actually goes through a siphoning/vacuum/steam process to make the coffee, in a fancy machine with a glowing halogen light on the bottom.
Wow! The coffee was good, but the experience was even better.
And because she's much fancier than I am my friend was able to document this experience with her phone/camera.
Who knew this was even a thing!
