I was recently introduced to this website.

[Don't forget to come back here when you're done wasting an hour or two over there.]
It made me think about "the family photo" as my college friends and I still call it...
As college freshmen in the dark ages you had to send your film (if you don't know what that is, ask your mom) to the lab in an envelope through the mail (that too!).
We took some great photos of some college event and were anxiously awaiting their arrival.
The envelope of developed pictures arrived!
We opened it!
And found this!
WHAT?
Eight copies of it.
Who are these people? And what are they wearing? Did we all look like that in the 80's? And let's not even talk about the feathered hair, or the tinted glasses or the sweater vests.... 1985 was a dark year for fashion but apparently no one knew that then.
Needless to say for the past 29 years this "family photo" has made appearances in surprising places including, but not limited to:
Birthday gifts
Wedding shower gifts
Wedding gift photo frames
Christmas cards
Baby shower gifts
Get well cards
On the top of personalized stationary
At homecoming in the view screen of a digital camera.
And once with the hair removed from every member (thank you photoshop) when one of our tribe was going through chemotherapy.
The family photo!
I think I may have just won "the family photo" joke by posting it here on the blog!!
[If you recognize anyone in this picture please let me know. We'd like to thank them for years of laughs.]
